PARTNERS IN LEARNING CELEBRATION
Broomall, PA --Excellence in teaching and student achievement in Delaware County was celebrated in A-Plus style when Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union Foundation and the Delaware County Intermediate Unit presented Delaware County Pennsylvania’s premier education recognition event – the 2010 Partners in Learning Celebration on April 29 at the Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center in Drexel Hill.
The dinner event acknowledged and promoted academic accomplishment in a way that’s similar to recognizing athletic ability. It honored all the students who participated in the 2009-2010 season of the Delco Hi-Q academic quiz competition and their advisors. Among them were the elite 20- member All Delco Hi-Q Team. Photographs of each representative of the 20 participating schools appeared in the Delaware County Daily Times.
To the three winners of the 2009-2010 season went an engraved plaque and a cash award for their school: $3,000 for first place Penncrest, $2,500 for second place Garnet Valley and $2,000 for third place Haverford.
In addition, 19 outstanding teachers received the prestigious 2010 Excellence in Teaching Award. This included one educator from each of Delaware County’s 15 public school districts and one from the Intermediate Unit, along with three non-public educators -- one each from an elementary, middle and high school. Each honoree received a $500 cash award, a commemorative keepsake and $1,000 to benefit his or her school. To see all 19 recipients – Click Here!
