Opening remarks are slated for 8:45 a.m. The first competition will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Delco Hi-Q is the oldest, continuous academic quiz competition in the nation!
A partnership between Delaware County Intermediate Unit and Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union Foundation, Delco Hi-Q is the nation’s oldest continuous academic quiz competition, now in its 71st season. Hi-Q was founded in 1948 as a quiz competition on a Chester Pennsylvania radio station and has evolved into a fast paced, premier academic competition. Twenty-one schools and more than 200 high school students from Delaware County participate each year.
In addition to support from participating schools, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and the Wilbur C. and Betty Lea Henderson Foundation are the primary corporate sponsors. Additional support comes from longtime sponsors Kimberly-Clark Corporation and the Delaware County Daily Times.
