Chadds Ford, PA (September, 2022) – With the 2022-2023 school year in full swing, teachers across Delaware County find it ever more difficult to find classroom supplies that fit slim school district budgets. This year, FMFCU Foundation set out to directly support Delco educators by running a Back to School Supply Drive. In a month-long campaign, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union (FMFCU) employees and members donated over 3,600 school supply items through donation boxes located in each FMFCU branch.
On September 15th, FMFCU Foundation donated over 3,600 supplies along with a $1,500 cash donation made out to Teachers’ Teammates, a Delaware County-based organization aimed at bringing together resources to offer teachers in under-resourced schools the opportunity to receive free supplies to use in their classrooms.
The Back to School Supply Drive, part of the FMFCU Care Crew program, is just one of the many ways FMFCU encourages members and employees to help those in our community. This year, FMFCU Foundation has also focused efforts on food insecurity, scholarships, community grants and volunteerism.
