Chadds Ford, PA — August 22, 2025 — FMFCU Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to Delaware County Literacy Council (Delco Literacy) to help sustain its critical programming and offset anticipated government funding cuts.

Delco Literacy provides free literacy services, including adult basic education, GED preparation, and English as a Second Language classes, empowering residents to achieve greater independence, employment opportunities, and community engagement. With government funding reductions expected in the coming year, the Foundation’s support will help ensure these vital programs remain accessible to those who need them most.

“Literacy is the foundation for opportunity, and Delco Literacy has been changing lives in our community for decades,” said Rick Durante, Executive Director of FMFCU Foundation. “At a time when resources are stretched, we are proud to support their mission and help provide students with the tools they need to succeed.”

FMFCU Foundation’s mission is to support initiatives that strengthen education, promote social responsibility, and improve the quality of life in the communities it serves. By supporting Delco Literacy, the Foundation continues its commitment to building stronger futures for local residents.
