The first round of the 2025–2026 Delco Hi-Q season wrapped up this week with two competitive contests, featuring strong performances and close finishes as teams battled for early-season positioning.
On December 16, Marple Newtown hosted Penncrest and Strath Haven in a closely contested match that saw all three teams hold the lead at different points. The competition remained tight throughout, with the defending 2024–2025 champions, Strath Haven, pulling ahead late to secure the win. Final Scores- Strath Haven: 47, Penncrest: 42, Marple Newtown: 41.
Delaware County Christian School hosted the final contest of Round 1, welcoming Springfield and Garnet Valley on December 18. The home team audience had the gym vibrating with enthusiasm. DCCS took an early lead and maintained control for the duration of the match, missing only two questions and earning seven bonus points. Springfield and Garnet Valley stayed competitive with one another but were unable to close the gap. In the end, DCCS secured the highest score of the first round. Final Scores- DCCS: 56, Springfield: 45, Garnet Valley: 35.
With Round 1 contests complete, all teams have now participated in one contest this season. Teams will continue adding points to their cumulative scores in Rounds 2 and 3. Competition resumes after the break on January 6 at Penncrest High School.
