Notre Dame de Lourdes School in Ridley Township is the first recipient of our Teacher Mini-Grant program. Ms. Kristy Dumont applied for a grant to expand their Life Science program for middle school students.

Ms. Dumont (center with check), Father Devlin, Parish Pastor, Mrs. Pileggi, Notre Dame Principal, and Notre Dame students accept the ceremonial check from FMFCU Foundation Executive Director, Rick Durante, FMFCU Branch Manager Darlene Ervin, and FMFCU Financial Literacy Centers Manager, Ryan Buchmann in the Notre Dame de Lourdes Library.

The grant covered the cost of compound digital microscopes to replace existing equipment which was in poor condition. The microscopes will allow students to dissect simple cells of plants found on the Notre Dame campus.

Notre Dame de Lourdes seventh grade students demonstrate one of the microscopes purchased with the grant funds.
