Chadds Ford, PA (December, 2022) – This holiday season FMFCU Foundation set out to collect toys for Nemours Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. In a campaign that ran just over two weeks, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union (FMFCU) employees and members donated 12 full boxes of toys through collections in each of the 15 FMFCU Branches. All of the toys were donated to Nemours on December 16th.
“We hope these toys, generously donated by FMFCU members and employees, will brighten the holidays for these young patients during their treatment at Nemours,” said Rick Durante, FMFCU Foundation’s Executive Director.
Each year Nemours Hospital for Children collects toys to distribute to children and families at the hospital. Child Life specialists at Nemours are trained to work with children who have serious illness or are recovering from surgery — often using toys, games, and crafts to allow them to express their fears and hopes and regain a sense of mastery and control.
The Holiday Toy Drive, part of the FMFCU Care Crew program, is just one of the many ways FMFCU encourages members and employees to help those in our community. This year, FMFCU Foundation has also focused efforts on food insecurity, scholarships, community grants and volunteerism.
