FMFCU Foundation Announces 2024 Community Nonprofit Grant Recipients

Eight nonprofit organizations in the Delaware Valley will receive grant funds from FMFCU Foundation through the 2024 Community Nonprofit Grant Award. These grants are intended to fund programs or projects that measurable, sustainable improvements in the communities we serve. This year’s application saw nearly 150 applications.

With programs ranging from supplies for tutoring programs to teaching CPR, approximately 2,500 people will be impacted.

2024 Grantees are:

  • Chester ExChange (Chester, PA) will purchase materials for early learners participating in the Chester ExChange tutoring program including workbooks, online learning programs, Chromebooks, and computer supplies.
  • Community Warehouse Project of Chester County (West Chester, PA) will purchase and provide 7 twin beds, including mattress and bedframe, for children in need.
  • Leading Youth Through Empowerment, Inc (Wilmington, DE) will fund programming cost for over 500 under-represented middle school and high school students overcome academic, economic, and racial disparities in their education.
  • Leveling the Playing Field (Sharon Hill, PA) will use the funds towards gas, parking and tolls when collecting donated sports equipment.
  • Marple Public Library (Broomall, PA) will purchase supplies for the Marple Library Makerspace program where individuals can go to learn a new skill, take part in crafts, expand knowledge of technologies, arts and entrepreneurship.
  • Mitzvah Circle (Norristown, PA) will purchase and distribute nearly 200 personal hygiene products, over 600 diapers, and 1,600 feminine products.
  • Simon’s Heart (Conshohocken, PA) will take the CPR Jukebox to a local event, teaching CPR in a innovative and fun way.
  • The Salvation Army in Greater Philadelphia (Philadelphia, PA) will incorporate STEM Kits that explore fields of robotics and engineering into the afterschool program.

Since the inception of the Community Nonprofit Grant in 2019, the FMFCU Foundation has distributed over $30,000 to local nonprofit organizations in the community.
