Chadds Ford, Pa. — Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and FMFCU Foundation recently joined Trumark Credit Union and six other partner credit unions in a regional effort to support Philabundance and help fight hunger across southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.
As part of the coalition, the credit unions donated 1,720 pounds of non-perishable food and presented Philabundance with a combined contribution of $32,050. Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and FMFCU Foundation contributed $5,000 to the effort and collected food donations at FMFCU branches to help provide meals for families facing food insecurity.
This marks the eighth consecutive year local credit unions have partnered to support Philabundance, one of the region’s leading hunger relief organizations. The annual collaboration reflects the credit union philosophy of people helping people and a shared commitment to strengthening the communities served by each participating institution.
“Food insecurity is one of the most urgent needs facing families in our region, and FMFCU Foundation is proud to be part of a credit union effort that turns concern into action,” said Rick Durante, Executive Director of FMFCU Foundation and Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Government Affairs at Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union. “Through FMFCU Foundation’s $5,000 contribution and the generosity of members, employees and branch visitors who donated food, we are helping Philabundance provide support to neighbors who need it most. This is what credit unions do best, come together, serve locally and make a measurable difference.”
Participating credit unions included American Heritage Credit Union, Ardent Credit Union, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, Penn Federal Credit Union, Self Reliance Financial Federal Credit Union, Superior Credit Union, Tri County Area Federal Credit Union and Trumark Credit Union.
The donations come as the need for food assistance remains significant across the Philadelphia region. Philabundance serves nearly 700,000 people experiencing food insecurity through a network of community partners and hunger relief programs. In 2025, the nonprofit delivered 44 million pounds of food, equal to 37 million meals, including more than 12 million pounds of fruits and vegetables and more than 139,000 meals and snacks for children.
For Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and FMFCU Foundation, the Philabundance partnership aligns with ongoing efforts to address food insecurity, support community-based nonprofits and strengthen quality of life for families throughout the region.
