Week Two Brings More Tight Contests in Delco Hi-Q

December 12, 2025 — The 78th season of Delco Hi-Q continued this week with two competitive matchups that showcased the quick thinking, teamwork, and strategy the program is known for.

The week began at Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School, where the home team welcomed Valley Forge Military Academy and Academy Park High School. All three teams were evenly matched from the start, setting the tone for a close contest. Academy Park made an early statement by picking up three bonus points in the opening round, capitalizing on missed opportunities from their opponents. Despite this strong start, Bonner & Prendie held a narrow lead by halftime, using their home advantage to stay just ahead of the pack. In the second half, Valley Forge Military Academy boosted their score by correctly answering their Team Choice question, tightening the competition even further. However, the home team proved steady throughout the match and ultimately secured the win. Final Scores – Bonner & Prendie: 26; VFMA: 16; Academy Park: 18

The fifth contest of Round 1, and the second of the week, took place at the Academy of Notre Dame, where Ridley and Penn Wood visited. From the start, Ridley took control, earning points on nearly every question in the first half. Their early accuracy gave them a solid lead heading into halftime. The second half brought tougher questions, challenging all three teams and slowing down the scoring pace. Even so, Ridley’s strong first-half performance proved decisive, and they maintained their lead through the end. Notre Dame and Penn Wood kept the contest competitive throughout, staying within striking distance, but it was Ridley who ultimately came away with the victory. Final Scores – Notre Dame: 21; Ridley: 33; Penn Wood: 22

With 5 contests complete, several teams have shown early strength. Six teams will compete next week to end the first of 3 rounds. Marple Newtown and Delaware County Christian School will both host contests next week.
