Nominations are being accepted for the 2016 Delco Hi-Q Hall of Honor. Delco Hi-Q is the nation’s oldest, continuous academic quiz competition. Primary corporate sponsor Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and the Delaware County Intermediate Unit initiated the Hall of Honor in 2005 to provide role models for current Hi-Q team members by honoring past participants who have distinguished themselves through their careers or community service. The award also recognizes educators and supporters of Delco Hi-Q who have made extraordinary contributions to the program.
Eligible nominees must have participated in at least one season of academic competitions and must have graduated from high school a minimum of seven years ago. Faculty advisors are eligible after one year of separation from Hi-Q. Educators and supporters, who have made significant contributions to Delco Hi-Q, are eligible for consideration with no time constraints.
The deadline to submit a nomination is March 7, 2016. Click here to submit a nomination.
The winner will be inducted at the annual Partners in Education Celebration, Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center. He or she will then be honored ad infinitum on the Hall of Honor wall in the Delaware County Intermediate Unit’s conference center in Morton.
In addition to honoring the Delco Hi-Q Hall of Honor, the annual Partners in Education Celebration also recognizes the 21 Delco Hi-Q teams, the All Delco Hi-Q team, Excellence in Teaching Award recipients, John D. Unangst Scholarship recipients, and the annual Financial Literacy Advocate. More than 600 students, parents, educators, local dignitaries, and supporters attend the region’s premier academic recognition event, and attendance increases each year.
