Final Round of Regular Season Starts with a Chichester Win

CHICHESTER TAKES THE WIN WITH A SEASON PERSONAL BEST SCORE

Delco Hi-Q round three kicked off at Sun Valley High School on January 23rd. The Vanguards hosted neighboring Chichester and Academy Park High Schools. Sun Valley struck first with a correct answer and an earned bonus point in Current Events. They traded the lead with Chichester early in the contest but quickly regained first place with a correct Literature answer. Both teams were tied for first with 20 points at the half.

The early part of the first half was much of the same until Chichester went on a streak with consecutive correct answers in Physics, Government, and World History giving them a ten point lead that led to the win. Academy Park warmed up late in the contest and buzzed in for the correct Math answer to end the contest. It wasn’t enough to overtake Chichester or Sun Valley but all three teams posted a season personal best score to end their season. Final Scores: Sun Valley, 31; Chichester, 41; Academy Park 22

Delco Hi-Q is a partnership between Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU) and Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union Foundation. FMFCU Foundation Executive Director Rick Durante serves as Hi-Q Director and Quizmaster, FMFCU Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist Danielle Griffin is Hi-Q Assistant Director, and DCIU’s Dave Bramble is the production engineer. In addition to support from the 21 participating schools, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and the Wilbur C. and Betty Lea Henderson Foundation are the primary corporate sponsors.
