VISITING TEAMS SCORE WINS THIS WEEK: PENNCREST AND HAVERFORD DOMINATE 

On January 13th, Penncrest and Archbishop John Carroll High Schools traveled to Cardinal O’Hara High School to continue Round 2 of Delco Hi-Q Contests. Penncrest picked up an early lead, answering all but one of their own questions and picking up 6 bonus points in the

first half. The two Catholic High Schools battled for second place, separated by just 1 point at intermission. Penncrest continued with the lead in the second half, with a final score of 48. Final Scores: Cardinal O’Hara: 19; Penncrest: 48; Archbishop Carroll: 24   

It was Ridley High School’s home contest on Tuesday, January 14th as they hosted Haverford High School and Academy of Notre Dame. Haverford started off strong, answering the first two questions correctly and picking up two bonus points. This put them in a good position for the lead, which they held throughout the contest. Notre Dame cleared the Shakespeare category picking up 2 bonus points and answering their question correct on the first try. And while Ridley tried to accumulate more points by answering 5 of their questions correct in the second half,

Haverford Hi-Q Team

but there was no catching up to Haverford. Final scores: Ridley: 33; Haverford: 47; Notre Dame: 10.

Next week, Upper Darby High School will host their home contest, concluding Round 2 of the season.  All teams will be focusing on the final chance to add points to their cumulative score, as Round 3 begins.
