FMFCU Foundation and Delaware County Intermediate Unit are pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the prestigious Excellence in Teaching Award. These awards recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of educators who have made a positive impact through their innovative teaching methods and unwavering dedication to their students. The Excellence in Teaching Award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of these exceptional teachers.
The FMFCU Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award is an honor is bestowed upon 20 outstanding and innovative educators, who have made a positive impact through their work and dedication. A total of $40,000 in grants will be awarded. Recipients receive $1,000 towards classroom expenses and a commemorative keepsake. The recipient’s school also receives a $1,000 grant.
Anyone can nominate a deserving teacher—fellow teachers, past and present students, school administrators, family members, and friends who have witnessed the positive impact of an exceptional educator. Nominations should be based on teacher performance during the current school year or on cumulative efforts throughout his/her teaching career. Nominees must be certified active teachers in good standing that provide direct instruction to students in a classroom setting. Nominees must teach in one of the following counties:
- Chester
- Delaware
- Montgomery
- New Castle
- Philadelphia
Nominations are being accepted online at fmfcufoundation.org/awards through the December 22, 2023 deadline. Awardees will be honored at the annual FMFCU Foundation Celebration, Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Drexelbrook and recognized by the Delaware County Daily Times.

These initiatives encompass a diverse range of programs, including scholarships, the Delco Hi-Q Academic Competition, Nonprofit Community Grants, efforts to combat food insecurity, and various other community sponsorships.
