FMFCU Foundation is committed to fostering educational growth and empowering the future generation of leaders within our community. This year, FMFCU Foundation is offering three scholarship programs for deserving students within our community. These programs help break down financial barriers that often hinder access to higher education. Over $25,000 in scholarship dollars will be awarded.
Eligible High School Seniors are encouraged to apply for these essay-based scholarships. A complete application must be submitted prior to the deadline of January 15, 2025.
John D. Unangst Memorial Scholarship
Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union’s first and long-tenured President/CEO John D. Unangst spearheaded a number of community and product initiatives. In 2001, FMFCU’s Board of Directors named its scholarship program in honor of John’s 25th anniversary with the Credit Union. Today, FMFCU Foundation continues the tradition by awarding four $4,000 scholarships for qualified tuition expenses. The essay-based application sees hundreds of submissions each year.
Bridge to Success Scholarship
Specifically designed for students within the Chester-Upland School District, this scholarship was created in 2023 to reflect FMFCU Foundation’s commitment to supporting educational opportunities and fostering the potential of students in underserved communities. The essay-based scholarship provides one $4,000 scholarship to a graduating senior to support their post-secondary expenses.
Delco Hi-Q Scholarship
Delco Hi-Q is the oldest, continuous academic quiz competition in the United States. Each year, over 200 students from 21 high school in Delaware County participate in the program. The Delco Hi-Q scholarship awards one of these students with $4,000 to further their education.
