While many of us are planning barbecues, beach days, and vacations, countless families in our region are struggling to put food on the table. Hunger doesn’t take a summer break—but together, we can make a difference.
Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union (FMFCU) is proud to once again collaborate with fellow area credit unions for our annual summer food drive. This year, we’re placing collection boxes in every FMFCU branch through June 30, 2025, inviting employees, members, and the broader community to support our neighbors in need.
All food collected will be donated based on location to one of three vital organizations: Chester County Food Bank, Food Bank of Delaware, or Philabundance.
Items gathered at FMFCU branches will be combined with those from partner credit unions and supplemented by monetary donations to maximize our collective impact. Every contribution helps ensure more families have access to nutritious meals during the toughest months of the year.
We welcome non-expired, unopened, shelf-stable items, especially:
- Peanut butter
- Jelly
- Canned soup
- Canned tuna
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Rice
- Oatmeal
- Whole grain pasta
- Cooking oil
- Boxed milk
- 100% juice
- Breakfast cereals and cereal bars
Whether it’s a few cans or a full grocery bag, every donation matters. Visit one of FMFCU’s branches!
This initiative is part of FMFCU Foundation’s broader mission to support education and charitable programs in the communities we serve. In addition to scholarships, grants, and awards, the Foundation has distributed over $50,000 to area food banks since 2021 through our Food Insecurity Fund and other initiatives.
