FMFCU FOUNDATION CLASSROOM MINI GRANT RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

January 2025 (Chadds Ford, PA) – FMFCU Foundation proudly announces the recipients of our Classroom Mini Grants, an initiative aimed at empowering educators to enhance their classrooms with innovative projects. Open to kindergarten through twelfth-grade teachers, the grants support student-oriented educational experiences that may not receive funding through traditional channels.

The Classroom Mini Grants aim to inspire teachers to develop projects that encourage hands-on learning, critical thinking, and educational growth. With this initiative, FMFCU Foundation seeks to provide educators with the resources needed to bring unique and impactful ideas to life in their classrooms. This year almost 100 applications were received and seven will receive funds.

The following educators have been selected to receive Classroom Mini-Grants, implementing new programs at their schools:

  • Erin Finnerty, Coatesville Intermediate High School of Coatesville Area School District, for the purchase of new pots and pans for the Culinary Program.

  • Shawn Comfort, Cook-Wissahickon of the Philadelphia School District, for the installation of a Gaga pit to help increase the physical fitness and activities in students and the community at large.

  • Lisa McDonough, Delcroft School of Southeast Delco School District to create a hands-on third grade Clean-Up Crew program dreamed up by a student.
