Delco Hi-Q Regular Season Ends- Marple Newtown High School to Host Championship

Marple Newtown High School, 1st place team in regular season


 

The excitement reached its peak as the regular season of Delco Hi-Q came to a close, with teams vying for the final playoff positions. In a nail-biting conclusion, teams had one last chance to add crucial points to their scores. These final scores ultimately determined the rankings and playoff matchups for this year’s competition.

 

The Seven Teams Advancing to the Playoffs:

  1. Marple Newtown
  2. Strath Haven
  3. Delaware County Christian School
  4. Garnet Valley
  5. Upper Darby
  6. Radnor
  7. Penncrest

 

Marple Newtown High School emerged as the dominant team, securing the coveted #1 spot and advancing directly to host the Championship Contest on March 12. They will face the winners of two exciting semi-final matchups.

 

With 164 points, Strath Haven clinched the second-place position. They will host Radnor (6th place) and Penncrest (7th place) for the first semi-final contest on Tuesday, February 25, at 9:30 AM.

 

The defending champions, Delaware County Christian School, secured third place with 147 points. They will host the second semi-final contest against Garnet Valley (4th place) and Upper Darby (5th place) on Thursday, February 27, at 10:45 AM.

 

Delco Hi-Q is a partnership between Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU) and Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union Foundation. FMFCU Vice President Rick Durante serves as Director and Quizmaster, FMFCU Corporate Social Responsibility Program Manager Danielle Griffin is Hi-Q Assistant Director, and DCIU’s Dave Bramble is the production engineer. In addition to support from the 21 participating schools, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and the Wilbur C. and Betty Lea Henderson Foundation are the primary corporate sponsors.
